Cement Masons and Plasterers A MEMBER’S RESPONSIBILITY TO WORK SAFELY AT ALL TIMES and FOLLOW ALL SAFETY PROCEDURES ABIDE BY ZERO TOLERENCE POLICY FOR SUBSTANCE ABUSE REFELCT YOUR UNION’S HIGH STANDARDS THROUGH HARD WORK ♦ Dress properly; NO clothing or buttons, clothing,
etc. with offensive words or symbols AND no loose/saggy clothes ♦ Arrive on time (allow enough time for traffic problems), ready to work, with proper, valid I.D. ♦ Bring necessary tools as established on the tool list: ensure tools are in proper working order PRIOR to arriving on the job ♦ Apply knowledge, skill and experience diligently on the job ♦ Upgrade skills on a regular basis so you are prepared for NEW work processes ♦ Convey knowledge & skill in an effort to strengthen our craft and promote teamwork ♦ Adhere strictly to break time and lunch periods; no cell phone use except at break/lunch periods ♦ Be productive, with no disruption to the job; keep idle time to a minimum ♦ Respect the property of the customer and the contractor. Graffiti or other forms of destruction are not toleraged THE BUSINESS MANAGER/BUSINESS AGENT SHALL ENSURE
MEMBERS WHO DEMONSTRATE BAD WORK HABITS SHALL BE ADVISED OF THEIR RESPONSIBILITY AS UNION MEMBERS ♦ Any activities that cast the OPCMIA or Local Union
in a negative light will not be tolerated ♦ Slowdowns or other methods to extend jobs or give rise to overtime will not be tolerated ♦ Inappropriate behavior, disruptive behavior, harassment or discrimination will not be tolerated CONTRACTORS MANAGE THEIR JOBSITE IN A PROFESSIONAL MANNER ♦ Address jobsite safety issues
♦ Provide the proper type and quantity of tools and materials to facilitate speedy progress ♦ Address ineffective Superintendents, General Foreman and Foreman. Ensure proper job layout to minimize downtime ♦ Address improper, unsecured storage of contractor and employee tools ♦ Address issues if the work is not performed efficiently, economically and safely Any member found in violation of the Code will be subject to the disciplinary procedures of the International and Local's Constitution which includes, but is not limited to , charges being filed and the possibility of a fine, suspension, and/or expulsion from the union.
